ABA Media Platform | AMP
A gold stream and a cyan stream of light crossing in deep space, glowing where they meet

The kick and the bass both sounded right. Together, one of them vanished.

ABA Pocket Check — the fourth tool in the ABA Media Platform toolbox, in beta. It shows where two to four performances sit in frequency and in time.

Two performances in the same band at the same moment compete for the same space, and the louder one wins. Pocket Check maps where each one owns its space and where they share it; your ears decide what to change.

The tool

Find where your performances share space.

Drop in the kick and the bass, or up to four performances, or load the example first.

Built for a desk: dropping in exported performances works best on a computer. On a phone, the example still shows what the tool does.

Beta · improving with use

We believe it’s great today. And it keeps getting better.

Pocket Check is checked against generated test signals whose shared space is known in advance, and it finds it. Its thresholds are declared rules of thumb, not a model of hearing: two performances within 6 dB of each other in the same band at the same moment count as sharing it. Read a result as a map of where to listen.

What happens to your audio

It stays on your computer.

Your audio never leaves your machine. ABA Pocket Check decodes and measures it in your browser, and never transmits it. Today it sends nothing at all: no measurements and no file names.

The tool remembers one thing in this browser only: whether you chose Dark or Light. Never any audio.
