Using the tools
All four tools measure your audio in your own browser. The audio is never sent anywhere.
Signed out, your readings stay in that browser. You can clear them there.
If you're a member and signed in, we store your readings in your member profile. The full list of what's stored is on the rulebook.
Members
We keep your email address, the name you asked us to call you (if you gave one), the date you joined, the date you last signed in, and your readings.
Sign-in links are sent by Resend, an email service. A sign-in lasts 30 days.
You can see and change your details on your member page. “Remove from my list” hides a reading from you and from everyone else.
The sign-in page offers “Email me weekly tips, and news when the ABA tools change.” If our host places you in the United States, that box starts ticked; anywhere else it starts unticked. Either way we keep your choice, the exact words you saw, whether the box started ticked, the country our host reported, and when. Turn them off or on any time from your member page; each change is kept with its time.
We keep a record, and you can still be erased
ABA keeps a record of what happens on the site that is never rewritten: every entry keeps its number and its time. So we don't delete records. We do separate the record from the person.
Close your account (write to us, below) and nothing in it is shown again, to you or anyone else.
Ask us to erase you and we remove your email address, your name and your file names. The record stays, with no one's name on it.
Two things are kept even then: records the law expects a business to keep, such as invoices, and your email address on our do-not-send list, so you're never written to again.
Buying a book
Checkout is run by Payhip, and your card is handled by the payment processor. ABA never sees your full card number. ABA receives the contact details you give at checkout, usually just your email address, and what you bought. It uses them only to deliver the book, send you its updates, and handle a refund. Buyers are not added to any mailing list.
When you write to us
We keep your email address and our conversation. We may write back about things related to what you asked. Every email we send carries a way to opt out, and we honor it promptly.
Studios we write to
We find studios through their public listings and write to them about the tools. We keep the studio's name, the contact's name, their business email and phone, the website and city, and what we sent and when. Reply “no thanks” or opt out and we stop. Your address goes on our do-not-send list.
Telling us what you think Not open yet
The “Was this useful?” box under a reading or a page keeps your answer and any words you add, and nothing about you unless you add your email.
Asking us to send you something Not open yet
When you ask for something, such as sample performances, we keep your email address, what you asked for, the consent wording you saw, when you asked, and whether you ticked the monthly note. We keep it in one place and use it only to send what you asked for, plus the monthly note if you ticked it.
